To ease into your registry experience and quite frankly to make the process less of a pain (for your legs that are retaining more and more water every day, for your back that is carrying those two babies, and for you bladder … you know the reason for your bladder), we suggest creating your registry entirely online first.

Then visit your chosen store or stores to closely examine any items on the list that you might be uncertain about and any of the pricier purchases to make sure they are worth the cost.

A few other pointers:

• Register early in your pregnancy in case you are put on bed rest later and to avoid feeling rushed prior to your shower.
• Don’t get too caught up on any one item. You can always modify your registry.
• Limit the amount of clothing on your registry (despite how cute it might be), especially if you expect to have a fairly large shower. Trust us, you are likely to get a ton of clothing at the shower. You will also get more blankets and small stuffed animals than you ever thought possible.
