When your doctor gives you the okay to begin exercising again after the birth of your twins, the task might seem daunting. You might ask yourself some or all of the following questions:
- Where do I begin?
- How do I deal with what muscles I have left around my tummy?
- Have my muscles atrophied from bed rest?
- If I can’t even get four solid hours of sleep, how or when should I exercise?
- Is my body ever going to go back to what it was?
The answer to the last question will depend on your effort and drive to get your body there. And, lady, it will require work. Plain and simple. You are going to have to want it. Getting back into shape is hard even for mothers of singletons.
Getting your body back to where you want it to be will require patience as well as dedication. Be reasonable with yourself, and give yourself and your body time. Don’t give up—you will get there!
